MAINTENANCE TECH - Direct Hire ( Carrollton, TX) Shift: Day Shift /Night shift Rate: $19+ DOE /5% Bonus PTO: 14 days SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs journey-level maintenance for production operations. Performs regular preventive maintenance and repair and strives to improve operational quality of the facility and its equipment. Contributes to ensuring safe working practices are followed and contributes ideas to simplify and standardize the workplace. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. " Responsible for Material Productivity, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), MTBF (Mean Time between Failure), by the utilization of the data provided thru KBBS. " Troubleshoots, maintains, fabricates, supports and assists with repairs to production floor equipment. " Assist with all process improvements projects and meeting all defined production/quality standards, Company KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to include, but are not limited to safety, quality, cost and service. " Performs preventative maintenance on all minor and major pieces of equipment related to production/facilities. " Assists in training and coaching other mechanics. " Complies with all equipment, safety and OSHA rules and regulations. " Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumable parts for equipment. " Monitor facilities and manufacturing operating equipment on a daily basis, troubleshooting problems and inefficiencies and recommending possible solutions. " Coordinate the services of outside vendors when necessary. " Identify existing and potential operational problems and efficiencies. " Execute equipment installation and operational qualification protocol. " Maintain and organize the documents and procedures related to calibration, preventative maintenance and usage logbook. " Performs related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. " Must have technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to perform complex start up, debugging and repairs of packaging machinery. " Ability to read and understand technical instructions and reference materials in order to interpret and apply Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions; perform practical application of mathematical calculations to solve specific mechanical problems and use many types of equipment. " Must communicate effectively in order to interface with multiple internal customers and equipment vendors, contractors and others to meet project requirements. " Must have a working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. " Reading, writing and speaking English clearly and concisely. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associate degree or technical certifications in related field is preferred " 3-5 years as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment " Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred " Forklift certification required " Packaging equipment such as Shanklin or Extreme preferred " Valid Driver`s License and acceptable driving history " Candidates must understand and show a working knowledge of; o Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) o Electrical Troubleshooting o Process Controls o Digital Logic Systems o Basics Robotics o Reading Schematics and Symbols o Three Phase, AC/DC Circuits, and Advanced Electronics. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical and environmental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move anywhere from 10 - 50 pounds; and occasionally more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
